As with most other E-flite warbirds, the battery required is a 2200mah 3s LiPo and in order to control it you need a 6+ channel transmitter, I used my Dx6i. The flight time with the 2200 is about 7 to 8 minutes which is quite short compared to E-flite’s Corsair which uses the same battery and flies for 10+ minutes. The detail on this plane is fantastic, all the panel lines are very neatly indented in the Z-foam and the landing gears look realistic. Retractable landing gears and moving flaps are pre-installed and function fantastically. So far, I have crash landed many times and there has been no problem with the gears. The flaps are also very useful because since this plane is very fast, they help it slow don and manoeuvre better at low speeds. In the first flights it is important to fly safely and maintain a high speed until you get a feel for the plane or else you may encounter some unexpected stalls during low-speed turns. Overall, the flight characteristics are very good apart from the hight stalling speed but that is present in most warbirds. The 960kv motor provides plenty of power, allowing the plane to go vertical for up to 5-10 seconds. Agility is not an issue, the ailerons and elevator are large and let the plane perform complex acrobatic manoeuvres with ease. As recommended in the manual, I setup dual trims with one of them being 100% and the other one 70%. I usually use 70% because it is easier to control the plane this way and when I want to do loops and rolls I switch over to the 100%. Landing can be quite tricky at first due to high speeds so I would recommend landing on grass. Overall, I really enjoy flying this plane and would recommend it to intermediate pilots.
